Well another 4th of July has passed us by in spite of the rain. I hope you had a chance to enjoy some of the celebrating. We are now moving to another event sponsored by the RVCC.

On July 21, 2018, a Saturday, we will show our First Responders how much we appreciate them. From 3pm to 6pm at 10403 White Clover we are looking for a great turn out. They will be served food and prizes. This is the second Appreciation Day we have had, The first one was a total success.

We would like all residents of Rainbow Valley to show up and show your support.. We will be looking for donations of food. Bring your special dish. If you are out shopping at your favorite store, ask the manager for a donation of water, paper plates or any thing of that nature. We will certainly appreciate all donations. Donations of prizes will be most appreciated as well.

There is a lot to do so I am counting on YOU.

This is our meeting month so there will be a short meeting before we get started. If you haven't paid your civic club dues this will be a good time. Dues are just $30 a year per household.

We are still researching the use of cameras in the neighborhood. Crime is everywhere and we are a isolated neighborhood. Cars have been broken into and the homeless have become a very big problem behind the homes on White Clover. The police have had to be called out several times but they just keep coming back. We as a neighborhood must unite and stand together. Call 311 and complain. If they get enough calls maybe something will change.

We have lost another neighbor, Mr. Carroll Kuhlman who resided at 11007 Overlea, recently passed in a nursing home. A very nice man who lost his wife several years earlier. Please remember his family in prayer, and please don't forget our sick and shut in neighbors, Mrs. Linda Detwiler, and Mrs. Billie Neymeyer. If there are others please let us know so they may be added to our prayer list.

I am counting on you for Saturday, July 21 from 3pm to 6pm." PLEASE DON'T LET ME DOWN"

Congratulations to 11011 Overlea residents, Chloe Mahler and Angie Howell, the May 2018 Yard of the Month recipients!

Well neighbors summer is defiantly upon us. Schools are out for the summer and our children will be looking for fun things to do. Please, be aware of them at all times, for they often forget to look out for us in cars.

There have been some car burglaries in our area as of late. Some have come forward to report the break ins and thefts. If you have been a victim please come forward and let us know. We are currently looking at some security systems to protect all our residents. I am trying to get someone to come to our next meeting to talk to us about various security systems to cover the entire neighborhood. This is where YOU need to step up to be a part of the planning to help keep us all safe.

We are looking forward to having another " Firemen and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day". We did this a few years ago and it was a big success. Saturday,July 21st is the scheduled date. We will need all the help we can get from you. I'm asking you to take part and show your appreciation for what they do for us. If you are shopping at your favorite store ask the manager of the establishment if he or she would make a donation to our Appreciation Day. Anything from water to hair cuts, nail salon spa day, TVs, or whatever that store may sell. We usually have a drawing for the officers and these are the prizes we give away.

I don't know how you feel about the homeless in our area, but the matter has gotten out of control. If you agree, please call 311, or your city councilman Dwight Boykins, to complain.

We are being overrun by the homeless and we are the ones to do something about it. Please step Up to the Plate and do your part.

"IT'S MEET AND GREET TIME AGAIN" - Mark your calendars for, June 26, 2018, 7PM to 9PM

Maybe you missed the first one, but you now have a second chance to come and enjoy a night out with your neighbors playing games, cards, music and dancing. A fun time meeting and getting to know who your neighbors are. If you like bring a simple dish, a dessert, your favorite game, or music. We look forward to seeing you. Don't let you face be missing in the place.

Have a great Fun filled summer and above all be SAFE.
